A Few Hands with a Donkey

"Pint?". A one word message glowed at me from my mobile phone. Ah well, an evening of online poker was to be replaced by an evening talking about Poker with my mates at our local pub. Mrs. P-S-H was going to be there anyway, but on the other side of the bar. All around, a fine way to spend a Thursday.
Unlike the English, I haven't mastered the art of drinking the evening away without so much as a morsel of food passing my lips. I must eat or I'll fall down. So I prepared myself a little supper and sat down at the virtual felt for a quickie.
There was a Crypto $5/10 table that looked particularly juicy, so I jumped in. In the couple of hands before the blinds reached me I identified a couple of donkeys. It's amazing how quickly you can peg a terrible player. One of them was just about to bust, and fulfilled his potential a couple of hands in. I probably only played about 30 hands, but I got into a great rythm against the remaining herbivore. Great cards helped too.

The first memorable hand went something like this:

The donkey limps in.
In the cut-off, with 88, I raise.
BB calls, donkey calls.
Flop: 367 rainbow.
Donkey bets, I raise, BB folds.
Turn: 5
Donkey Bets.
I think .. well he's representing the straight, I need information.
I raise, Donkey calls. Information gathered: he doesn't have it.
River: 2
Donkey checks, I bet, he calls, I win.

A couple of hands later ...

The donkey limps again (he limped on just about every hand)
I raise on the button with A8o
Everyone else folds.
Flop: A84, two spades.
Donkey bets, I smoothe call.
Turn: 7 (no spade)
Donkey bets, I raise, Donkey 3bets, I cap.
River: 9, no spade.
Donkey checks, I bet, he calls, I win.

From then on, he was my bitch. I only played a couple more hands with him in my 15 minutes, but I just had to get a little aggressive and he folded like a tent.

Fifteen minutes, +$143. If only all of the sessions could be that good. Somehow, the pints tasted a little sweeter that night.

Hey, I am not playing poker with you again. All i will be able to hear in my head is how you are calling me a donkey and smiling politely across the table at the same time. LOL
