The Adventures of HUC

"All I say is, kings is kings, and you got to make allowances. Take them all around, they're a mighty ornery lot. It's the way they're raised."
- Mark Twain, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Tonight I make my debut in the wild world of the blogger tournaments. I have registered for the Heads Up Challenge III, and round one (a four person, winner only advances) takes place tonight at 9:00pm my time. (London)
It should be fun, and the competition should be pretty good. Bloggers are above average in skill and you just never know when they'll put in a big raise with the hammer.
Thanks go out to Veneno for organizing this thing.
Last night I continued on my Sit and Go challenge playing another 10. That brings me to a total of 23, and unfortunately my stats have leveled off. I have been having a real concentration of finishes in the 4th to 6th range.
I believe that I have been playing particularly well as I can't think of a single game where I went out on a donkey move. In every case I shoved when I had the best of it and was called by a lesser hand that hit.
I have been contemplating a few things. First, how many simultaneous SNGs are too many. I have been playing up to four, which I find manageable. I find at the beginning I am doing alot of folding and the hands can take a while. I don't think I'll go past four, and I'm only playing four on Party where I can fit them all on my screen without overlap. How many do you play? Would I be better playing fewer at higher stakes?
Second, does anybody out there have experience with the SNG Power Tools? I think I may download them and play around with the free tutorials, then make a decision from there.
Last, how much bankroll do you need to play SNGs. I think about 20 times the entry price is about right? Any guidance on that?
Overall, last night I broke even. (Which I was surprised about ... I thought I would be down). I played 10 games and placed three times: one first and two seconds. My cost was $110 and I made $110.
Here are my up to date stats on the SNGs:
Games Played: 23
Total Cost: $253
Total Won: $310
Return on Investment: 22.5%

Yes, I have SNG power tools, and I highly recommend them. The free version is not very good though, but the tutorial included with it is OK.
On the SNG bankroll, my requirements are 100 buyins. But, I am ultra-conservative and a pussy.
And lastly, good luck in HUIII.
Hi Colin,
Thanks to the notice we received from your group regarding the wrong structure on the HUC matches, we were able get the other games fixed in time to continue with the event.
Sorry for the mix up. Congrats on your win!
